Help Us Create A More Literate Nashville: Book'em

Did you know that about 75% of the children served by Metro Nashville Public Schools are classified as economically disadvantaged and live in very challenging circumstances? Additionally, only 34% of elementary and middle school students in Metro Nashville Public Schools read on grade level or above.

A local organization called Book’em is working to create a more literate Nashville by helping economically disadvantaged children, from birth through high school, discover the joy and value of reading through book ownership and enthusiastic volunteers.

Join us on Tuesday, April 17th to help us sort books, which will then be provided year-round to children without books of their own (Books for Nashville Kids) or read to community preschoolers in low income areas (Ready for Reading). If you have books to donate, feel free to bring them along!
