Hi Hokies,

Here is just a note to bring everyone up to date on happenings in the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.  As most of you know, we just completed our annual golf tournament. We had almost 80 players and a great group of sponsors. We will end up making close to $5,000 to put toward our scholarship fund and yearly expenses. Without the help of a lot of great Hokies, we wouldn’t be able to have such a successful event. Thanks so much to all of you who contributed. We also want to give special thanks to Chuck Terry and his committee members for all their hard work.

We will be featured in the fall Virginia Tech Magazine about our help with the Hokies for Hunger campaign. I understand there will be another article later highlighting our support of the 101st Airborne and our adoption of the “Nashville Hokie Bird” at the Nashville Zoo. There is now a plaque on the fence around the duck pond in the “Critter Encounter” at the Nashville Zoo. Contact Carol Wilson for more information (615) 883-5158.

The next chapter events will be the Officers Forum in Blacksburg and the first football party at Beethoven’s in Cool Springs. If you haven’t made a game watching party, come on out and meet old Hokie friends and make new ones. We always have a great time. Check the website Calendar at www.vtechalumni.com for game time and other chapter information.

That’s all for now.

GO HOKIES!!!!!!!!
