Do you need new ideas for chapter fundraising programs? Do your new officers need to find out what they have gotten themselves into? Do you want to hear about all of the wonderful programs other chapters are involved in?

Then sign up for the Chapter Officers Forum. Attending the Chapter Officers Forum is a great way to see what's new on campus, to network with other chapter leaders, and to re-energize for the upcoming year.

  • See the new buildings that have popped up on campus including Bioinformatics, Chemistry/Physics, and Student Services.
  • Watch as the Holtzman Alumni Center and Skelton Conference Center begin to come out of the ground.
  • Learn about our strategy to transition into the ACC.
  • Interact with campus leaders and your alumni staff.

Come to the Chapter Officers Forum!

Note: New officers may not have been included in this e-mail invitation. Please be sure to forward to your new chapter officers.

Optional Events on
Friday:

  • Chapter Training for New Officers

  • New River Valley Golf Tournament (separate registration required)

  • Tour of the South End Zone

  • Happy Hour at NERV Restaurant (hors d'oeuvres & cash bar)

**Chapter Showcase**

Chapters are encouraged to display their activities, scrapbooks, and other initiatives during the Chapter Showcase.
The Award for the best Chapter Scrapbook will be presented on Sunday morning during breakfast.

Make plans now to showcase your chapter!

Coming Early? There are several activities scheduled for Friday, August 29, for new officers and those who choose to arrive a day early. Beginning at 1 p.m., the New River Valley Chapter will once again sponsor their golf tournament. At 1:30 there will be a tour of the South End Zone in Lane Stadium. Training for new officers will begin at 3:00 p.m. And we will end the day with a Hokie Hour at Blacksburg's newest restaurant, NERV.

On Saturday we will begin with Campus Tours and then the Opening Session at 10:00 a.m. Back by popular demand, we will provide lunch with new student scholarship recipients - an opportunity to see how your local students have fared during their first week of school. Liaison sessions and afternoon sessions will be followed by our annual reception and awards banquet.

On Sunday following breakfast we will take a look at successful chapter events and have an opportunity for discussion with fellow chapter volunteers. Then, we open up another exciting football season, our last season in the Big East, playing against Central Florida.

Throughout the weekend we will share exciting news on the Alumni and Conference Center, provide updates of university initiatives, and host sessions with Undergraduate Admissions, Legislative Relations, and your Alumni Association staff. You will have the opportunity to meet faculty members and administrators who will discuss some new and exciting projects on campus.

If you can join us, please submit your registration form by July 25. Game tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis and are limited to Chapter Officers Forum attendees only. If you need lodging, please also note that on your registration form.

For more information or questions, contact Debbie Day Shelton or Kellie Morris.

We look forward to having you back on campus to kick off another wonderful academic season with training, fellowship, and football.

Vice President for Alumni Relations
