Barring
weather or operational factors, the 158th Fighter Wing from the
Vermont Air National Guard in Burlington, Vermont, will conduct a military
aircraft flyover during the National Anthem prior to the Virginia Tech vs
Rutgers game. The F-16 Fighting
Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air
combat and air-to-surface attack as a relatively low-cost, high-performance
weapon system.
Two
F-16Cs of the 134th Fighter Squadron, 158th Fighter Wing
will fly over Lane Stadium to celebrate the Virginia Tech Homecoming while the
Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets are on the field honoring all Virginia Tech
alumni. The flyover participants are:
