Barring weather or operational factors, the 158th Fighter Wing from the Vermont Air National Guard in Burlington, Vermont, will conduct a military aircraft flyover during the National Anthem prior to the Virginia Tech vs Rutgers game.  The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft.  It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack as a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system.

Two F-16Cs of the 134th Fighter Squadron, 158th Fighter Wing will fly over Lane Stadium to celebrate the Virginia Tech Homecoming while the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets are on the field honoring all Virginia Tech alumni.  The flyover participants are:

Lead Aircraft:

Lieutenant Colonel Dick Harris, Class of ’83, 134th Fighter Squadron Commander

Aircraft #2:

Lieutenant Colonel John Bartholf, F Squadron, VTCC Class of ’83, 134th FS Operations Officer
