Status Letter
The Middle Tennessee Chapter
of Virginia Tech Alumni
has one of its own over in Iraq.
MB Sherkey and his unit have been deployed and
we, as his Chapter, want to help by donating much needed supplies.
We sent a lot of supplies to M.B. at our last Board meeting,

and he will distribute these items to his unit.
We are asking that you also send some of the items listed below
to him.
- Toothpaste
- Soap
- Baby Wipes
- Suntan Lotion
- Sanitary Waterless hand soap
- Shampoo
- Razors
- Snack foods (non-melting & non-perishable)
- Deodorant
- Foot spray
- Talcum Powder
- Other suggestions:
Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal, Pop Tarts- (Blueberry Frosted, Strawberry Frosted, Brown Sugar Frosted),
Torenago Tortilla Chips (the ones in a can like Pringles)
and plastic containers of Salsa (Tostitos makes a small Party
Bowl of Salsa), Unscented Baby Wipes, Lever 2000 wipes, Little Bottles of
Mouth Wash, Vienna Finger Cookies, Suspense Mystery Murder books, Green
Trident, Tuna and Chicken packs in the bags with some crackers, a few old
washcloths, Sudafed, Instant Oatmeal (Banana Nut or Banana and cream), Banana
and Cream pudding packs, Powdered Gatorade or PowerAde (Blue flavor), Travel
games, encouraging letters, interesting newspaper articles or clippings of
other things in the world but war, beef jerky (no pork), Ramen noodles, Kraft
Easy Mac, Pistachios, Almonds, any kind of nuts, Skin so soft (Avon) - small
bottles, flea collars (they wear around their ankles to keep desert mites
away)
Keep in mind that all items
have to be packed into boxes no bigger than a shoe box.
Also, no meat or agriculture product will be allowed.

just remember the guidelines.
